His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Swamiji arrives in Sydney.
Madhwa Navami celebrations were performed. Swamiji started his visits to devotees’ houses. He performed various poojas at devotees’ requests in their homes. After a short visit to Melbourne, Swamiji returned to Sydney for a stay of 2 weeks. During this short period of time, Swamiji along with other ardent devotees acquired a rental place to establish 9th overseas branch under the banner Puttige Matha, Udupi. The location of the priest house was set up in Toongabbie, NSW. Very quickly the word got spread around the city of Sydney and gained support from his devotees. Swamiji gave his consent to the rental property and did not waste any time. Immediately, preparations were in place to get the priest house set up.
Swamiji performed the traditional punyaha Vachana, griha pravesh at the new premises.
This day was marked as the auspicious day in the calendar of Puttige Matha, Sydney branch. A procession was held to bring the deities into the newly acquired rental property. Sri Raghavendra Swamiji’s idol was the first one to arrive along with other idols. Swamiji continues to visit devotees’ houses to render poojas, Gita discourses and bless his devotees.
Swamiji also visited the residence of Smt Nagaveni and Sri Vasudev Bade Talav for Thottilu pooje in the evening, when the couple agreed to donate Sri Udupi Krishna idol to the priests’ house. After the Gita pravachanam and serving of prasada, Sri Krishna was then taken in a procession at night while chanting Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam. Everyone present was frenzied at what was happening.
In the early hours of this day, Swamiji consecrated the idol of Sri Krishna, and installed it in the Altar. Those who attended this morning ritual only know the divine atmosphere encompassed the priests’ house. Then Swamiji left for India. Here we go, since this day, the priests’ house has been fully occupied with activities of various kinds, as per the tradition of Madhwa Sampradaya. Children and adults both alike, take part on Thursday evenings reciting Sri Raghavendra Swami devotional slokas, songs, Parayane etc, to name. Over the weekends, children are taught Gita chanting, Bhajans etc. Irrespective of nos, everyone is invited to partake in prasada at all times. So far, the devotees numbering in hundreds have celebrated the Aradhana of Guru Raghavendra with vigour and devotion. Samoohika Sri Satyanarayana Pooja, Sri Lakshmi Pooja during Deepavali have also been conducted on a large scale.

Sugunendra Swamiji for twelfth years had studied under the tutelage of Shri Vidyamanya tirtha Swamiji all the four branches of Veda, Upanishads, Pancharatra agama, Nyaya, Vyakarana, Tarka, Shriman Nyayasudha and Vysasatraya, and all other Sarvamoola granthas of Shrimadhacharya. Along with other Indian philosophies he had particularly mastered and built a fort around Dwaitha tattva vadha. Below is a bird’s view highlights of the services he is offering for the value based education to strengthen our next generation Higher Primary School, KemundelWhen a 120 year old school in an absolute remote village called Kemundel was almost in closing stages, His Holiness Sri SugunendraTheertha Swamiji took over the school. He revamped the entire system and now this school is a most sought-after school for nearby many villagers. 1. Founded in the year 1890 and has completed 128 years and its glory to continue. 2. This is a Kannada medium school located in an absolute rural area supporting a couple of villages around it. 3. After Swamiji took over the school, student strength increased from 35 to 120 and is increasing year on year. 4. The school is provided with a bus and other basic facilities by Sri Swamiji to help kids from remote places to reach the school. 5. A fresh mid-day meal is provided to all children every day. 6. All these facilities and uniforms are provided fully free of charge. 7. The school has achieved recognition at state and district level in extracurricular activities. 8.
